The open studio holiday party was a success

Even though it was storming something fierce outside, that didn't deter us from BBQ'ing up some tasty Kielbasas and sipping some wine inside! Thanks to all who came out.

We showed the work of all of the artisans at Sgraffito, including, Rosemary Dudley, Will Tait, Paul Murphy, Lawrence Gandsey, Roberto Gastelumendi, Daryl Rush and visiting metalsmith, Gregg Hessel.

Here are some pictures:

Will Tait's drawings, Roberto Gastelumendi's benches
and visiting artisan Gregg Hessel's candelsticks

Fall keeps doing its thing!

Aside from having abnormally warm weather the last few days, fall in the Bay Area is continuing to impress me. The colors of the sunsets and leaves are extraordinary! I mean vines typically creep me out, but check out the color of these vine's leaves! Stunning, no? It gives new meaning to red vines!

So what was I doing under these red vines? They are growing all over Cal Expo and I was there to see all the beautiful cars. Strangely I didn't take many photos of those. Here are my faves:

It's Fall!

and just look at the leaves i found after they had fallen! a ginko leave in many shades of yellow, orange, red and brown! lovely!
these leaves look like they are in the process of falling, but they've actually gotten stuck in a spider web and are perpetually dancing around each other.

do i feel a leaf-inspired creation coming on?

a quote for a dreary afternoon

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
